Cupolas Building Blocks

$199SGD

Books with illustrations and old movies, a trip to the Louvre or the Hermitage, the music of Stravinsky, toys made of natural materials – all this teaches a child to recognise beauty, to absorb it so that later he or she could easily create something new.

The Cupolas set is a creative space in which children can bring to life what they think is beautiful. The constructor has strict shapes and soft arcs, a rare combination that will launch the imagination to full power. It is a handy building material to create new worlds.

It does not have to be towers and castles – the building blocks constitute great walls and stadiums, bridges and garages, TV towers, schools, ice cream shops. You can build a skatepark for finger-boarding or an ecological zoo for toy animals. Thanks to the variety of shapes and harmonious colours, any construction will turn out aesthetically pleasing.

How to play:

  • Build the tallest tower or the longest wall
  • Find pictures of famous vaulted buildings on the Internet, such as the Hagia Sophia or St. Basil's Cathedral, and discuss why different peoples build such different architectures
  • Collect incredible paintings on the plane, talk about what is the abstract art of Wassily Kandinsky, Fernand Léger, and Mark Rothko
  • Put the pieces on top of each other one by one, trying not to let the construction collapse
