Spiel Gut® Toys
The “spiel gut” toys are toys that have been awarded the “spiel gut” seal by the Arbeitsausschuss “Kinderspiel und Spielzeug eV”, which is an independent association founded in 1954 in Germany and is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs.
“Spiel gut” literally means “Play well” and the toys with the seal have passed strict criteria for their “spiel gut” quality and value in various aspect.
The label indicates that a toy has been tested in accordance with the criteria: play value, material, workmanship, durability, safety, child-adequate size, design, quality of user instructions, suitability for different age groups etc. Environmental aspects are also considered such as detailed controls on pollutants.
The committee consists of experts from the fields of education, psychology, sociology, medicine, design, technology, environmental protection and other professionals.
